Has there been experience from growing a seed from a pumpkin that had a very low seed count to begin with. SIZE and weights, plant diff's? This question is being posted for another person, plus I would like to know too.....Experiences?

my 1407 had less than 60 seeds in it, and has done well so far.

the 705 Stelts had very few seeds in it, and it grew his WR years ago, as well as the 1230 and 1016.

i don't think that a low seed count has any direct effect on how the offspring do, other than it may force the grower to take better care of the plant if they know the supply is limited.

It is often thought that low seed count is a result of Hybridization. Some have speculated that a low seed count can be an indicator of Hybrid vigor.
