Seems like almost every pumpkin grown from the 695 Handy have this grayish pinkish color with a really rough bumpy skin and all with simular shape. What part of the family tree does this trait come from on this seed?
When ever I see a pumpkin that looks like this more often then not the 695 handy has grown it or is in its back ground somewhere. Anyone ever notice this trait on this pumpkin?

Brooks, I think that's the "ugly & heavy" gene you are talting about. I've put off growing the 695 and the 695 offspring for the past couple of years because I wanted to grow something that looked better. Meanwhile, the 695 offspring keep right on growing big & ugly & heavy ones. This year I'm planning to grow a 1139 Sherwood.

Russ, How about that 832 Larue that was grown off the 1139 Sherwood,, wOw~~! is that a ugly pumpkin or what!!,LOL!! That 832 has the 1068 in it so that ought to be pretty interesting cross to say the least. Hold onto your 832's if ya got em!

I keep looking at that 832 and keep laughing and saying to myself, MAN IS THAT ONE UGLY SON OF A GUN, LOL. Id like to hear the story's from Jack about what his other grower friends said about it when they seen that pumpkin in person,LOL. Sorry Jack, but Id still grow a seed from it,,,Maybe,LOL. Seriously though, Id grow it, watch it be one of his best producing seeds,
