Besides the 1502 Wallace, what 06 seed do you think will see the most action this year?

Brooks:
It takes three things to get an unproven seed in the dirt:
1) Solid cross with great stats on both sides. (Genetics)
2) Wow factor. (Psychology, creates demand in the growers mind.)
3) Distribution & support from a group/network of growers. (Marketing.)

Many seeds meet #1 but #2 & #3 are hard to predict.
With the above in mind, here are my best guesses for 2006 seeds actually being planted this year:
1446 Werner
1308 McKie
1302 Zuhlke
1250 Kline
And anything out of the 2006 Wallace patch. Dick & Ron are the unequivocal heavyweight champs not only in the patch 2006 but even moreso in marketing their seeds this offseason. #1, great genetics throughout their patch. #2 Just look at the numbers. Wow! #3 Look at their seed distribution through auctions, SNGPG, and in filling individual seed requests. (Pap, how many of those this year?!?) I do think it will be interesting to see if there are more 1502s planted or 1450s. A lot of experienced guys might hold onto their 1502s while the newer growers will tend to plant it. Meanwhile, 1450, with limited 'must grow' distribution to a few top growers is guaranteed to see dirt. I also think their 1068/1370 crosses will do well.

I think the 1446 Werner will see dirt quite a bit.

I agree, with the Dick and Ron Wallace seeds, the 1446 Werner, 1302 Zuhlke, and the 1250 Kline.
Eddy Z. made some very nice crosses in 2006(846 X 1068, 935 X 898, 898 X 1068, etc.). Hopefully some of these see the dirt and get proven.

Ok, Ron you talked me into doing what I should have done a while ago. I posted my first grower dairy entry. Pictures of my 1209 and my 1013*.

Thank you for the kind compliments. Ron and I have always been generous with our seeds just as others were generous with us in the early years.

The seeds are not doing any good in your underwear drawer at home.

Get them out there especially to people you know will grow them.

Naturally getting people to have a need and desire for your seed is not easy. Results talk and bulls--t walks as they say.

Some day we will be asking you guys for a hot seed or great cross. Thats your time to repay
