670 daigle produces big and orange. Also its parentage is non related to 1068. What if you made the cross 1068 x 670. Or is it better to cross the 1068 back into the 1502 or the 1450. What do people think of sibbing the 1068. I'm no genetics wizard here looking for ideas. Also the 998 Pukos could be cross in here as well. Like to see what Nic or Tom B thinks here. Thanks drew

Looking at on AGGC, there are a some crosses that may be good color enhancers for the 1068; and be relatively unrelated, genetically. Here's a few that I found(used as male pollinators to the female 1068):
1101 Northrup
1233.5 Reiss
961 Delatas
735 Pukos

The 670 Daigle may hold promise as a male pollinator. It seems to perform well in the 500 Northrup(1230 X 670).

Will these crosses have some "hybrid vigor"? I don't know. I do think the 1068 sibbed or 1502 X 1068 could be a good producers as well. Time will tell. Good questions Drew. I hope Mr. Beachy and Mr. Welty share their thoughts as well.

It will be interesting to see if the 1068 will prove better on the mother's side, or the father's. I'm guessing it will do quite well either way. I think the following could be nice crosses, using the 1068 as the male.

845 selfed or 723 selfed X 1068
845 sibbed or 723 sibbed X 1068
846 or 735 X 1068
