I've got three plants, all from unproven seeds, to choose from to replace the 1370 Rose that was a dud: 748 Pukos (1370 Rose X 1231 Pukos), 578 Daigle (1370 Rose X 670 Daigle) and a 991 Urena (1420.5 LaRue X 1446 Eaton). Which one should I choose? I'm only growing 3 plants. My other two that have already been set out are a 1253 Sperry and a 947 Hunt. Thanks for your help, Charlie

Charlie I grew the 578 Daigle last year and had some issues with it. The vines keeped cracking on the main for some reason . The pumpkin never got over 20 some pounds a day then the plant got sick and the pumpkin stopped growing around 450 pounds but weighed 485. It was a very nice shaped pumpkin and great color.If it would not of went down it could of made it to 800 or so pounds I believe.

947&1253 are awesome.sorry to hear your 1370 didnt come through for you.
you have three good seeds to pick from.
578Daigle should grow some nice orange .
have to like the 1400lb cross of the 99Urena.the 748 is great cross as well this seed will see some dirt this year and next.
my pick 748Pukos cant go wrong with one of Joe's seeds.

Thanks for the help, all. I have a few more days before I put them out, but I think I'll plant the 991 and the 748 out together and make the decision within a couple of weeks. I'm leaning toward the 748, though.

the opposite cross Leonardo Urena did grew a 1032 off of the 1446 X 1420 (opposite cross of the 991). Leonardo grew the 1032 and threw a 25% heavy fruit.

I like the 991 Urena. It will cross nicely with the 947. My second choice would be the 748 Pukos. Thanks for giving my 947 a chance. I hope it's doing well for you. Mine is out-pacing the 842 Eaton so far & both were started the same time. Good luck.

The 991 is more or less the same as the 1231 you have in the 748. Except there it is crossed with the 1370. I think I would go for the 748, though I see Phil's point as well.
