I have two pumpkins on a small square footage 1217 Whittier plant. One x 1355.5 Marion, and the other x 967 Kurilich. Both are around 130 lbs or so, and day 30 is approaching.

ND is cooler than normal right now and the growth has slowed on both pumpkins to around 10 lbs a day on each pumpkin.

If I cull one at the day 30 mark, will it have mature seeds or will they be garbage?

At first I am hoping for good seeds for next year, but I am way behind last year and I want one of these suckers to take off. I don't care if it splits or not.

Am I wise, or should I hope for two 300 lb pumpkins, and have good seeds for next year?

Personally, I think there are so many good seeds available for the price of a bubble-pack and postage that growing a bigger pumpkin would be my first choice. Cut one off!!!

Sounds like you are changeing the game plan in the middle of the game. If you wanted the biggest you could get you should have culled a while ago... It appears hail beat you up and you settled for 2 genetics pumpkins. 8 months from know do you really think you will plant either of those seeds!! Just kidding!! Have fun and grow them BIG...

Yep, I'm gonna start growing my own seeds, and in a couple of years that will be 75% of what I plant.

Cmon, those aren't bad crosses are they?

Next year they will grow a 1503 lb world record, and I will be selling them for $200 each. lol.

I would like to see what growers like the Wallaces, Daletas, etc. can do with my seeds.

It would be similar to a duffer like me golfing with Tiger Woods.
