I think that before it's run is over, the 998 Pukos could challenge the 1068 Wallace for the top seed of all time. I wonder if the 998 had a good seed count?

The 998.6 only had about 220 seeds. I sent out 172 the first year and 41 last year. It has not been throwing many fruit over the charts, but it has produced some nice sized pumpkins with some decent color. Most of the ones I've seen have not had many flaws. Here's hoping some of the 998 x 1068 & 1068 x 998 crosses that are out there right now can take us up to the next level of weights. It's exciting thinking about a thick walled orange fruit with no flaws becoming a reality and that scenario could very well be in some of this fall's seeds..Joe P.

998 Pukos for me threw a nice polished orange color fruit, but crossed it with an ugly white one of Joe's fine seed stock. We will see what happens at scale time, Thanks Joe for the seeds, and best wishes and luck at the weighing time. JK
