I saw a pic of it, and am wondering what seed grew it, and what Mr. Trumm crossed it with?

shoot i think it was on a 1097 Beachy. It won best looking at Anamosa, it was very nice looker for sure. Im sure someone else will chime in.

According to the listings, it was a 1907 Beachey open pollinated. The only reason it was exh. was because Ralph had a big ugly one over 1000#. I think he took 5th or 6th with that one. The 910 definitely was a beautiful bright orange, and had a real nice shape. I wouldn't be afraid of planting a seed from it, because every plant he grew has good genetics. I posted a picture of most of the Anamosa entries in my photo diary.

My appoligies for calling Ralph's big pumpkin ugly. It was actually a nice looking orange. I was thinking of the one that his father and brother grew on one of his 1200 seeds. Half orange and half green. And don't think that I consider ugly bad. I dream of growing something big, no matter how pretty or ugly it turns out. The Cedar Rapids Gazette called my personal best from 2006 a huge lump of cookie dough, and that made me feel real good.

Thank for the the info. Iowegian....the reason I asked was because I saw the pic in your photo diary. It was a very nice looking pumpkin.
