Which of these "old school" seeds do you think would be the best to introduce as a pollinator into the "modern" AG genetic pool? The 783 Daletas cross is 500 Hebb x 801 Stelts. The 712 Kuhn cross is 935 Lloyd x 780 Eaton. The "modern" genetic pool that I'm refering to is the 845 Bobierx898 Knauss crosses and the 1420 Larue x 1446 Eaton crosses.

Jim Kuhn did a 998 X 712 this year, so he was thinking on the same line. I wonder what the color will be, because the 712 could do to the 998 like it did in the 1370 Rose.
Which could be awsome and heavy.
I was always curious why the 783 kind od died, lots of these seeds out there but little hitting dirt, But my thinking is, different is better, and especially mixing it with the 846 X 898

Alan Gibson grew an 808.5 a few years ago...very first AG I ever grew to 568 pounds. I believe it was 846 x 712.

hey you

if you want a good 712 gene pool, consider the 720 Rose '03. the cross is 712 Kuhn x 723 Bobier. the 712 pollinated Jerry's 1370, and the 723 produced his 1367.5. allegedly, the 720 was the monster of the patch, growing much faster than either the 1370 or 1367 prior to splitting.
I planted one last year, but a broken water pump cost me that very special plant. It is definitely worth planting.

I would take into account the number of DMG pumpkins in the offspring of both seeds as well. Personally the 783 would be my choice.
