I have a friend that did this cross and the reverse cross. I took a look at these on aggc and became very interested in it.The 875 is the female seed of the famous 935 Lloyd. The 942.5 Cox has a completely different hiararchy tree on the female side and the male was a 935 Lloyd. Does it make any sence in crossing these genetics into some of todays seed stock ? I have 5 of each of the seeds in germination box today to see if they sprout. I am thinking of growing one or two just to see what they do, but don't know if it would be a good thing to cross into any of my other seeds. Any coments are welcome and if someone is into the older seeds that might want to try some of these let me know.

I'd grow it without a doubt, The 875 lloyd was an impossible seed to germinate, I tried 10 of them.
If they pop and you have a few extra, I'd grow it and cross it with my 522 which is the 935 X 898, I wanted to cross the 875 with the 522 as my plan but was stoped short

Eddy, What year did you try to germinate the 875. These seeds where grown in 2000 or 2001. I will let you know in a day or so if they germinate.I beleive I have one of your 522 seeds also. if you want some of these I can send you some. He only has about 500 of each. lol.

In 2005 and 2006, Talked with Tom Beachy about them, and he said very few ever germinated, I beliecve David Garrell tried 6 or 8 in 2004.
Many have tried lol
And if they do germinate, I would try one for sure

Eddy, so far the 942.5 x 875 cross has 100% germination and the 875 x 942.5 cross is 0 for five. I am going to try 5 more and might get some GA3 to try.
