I know my comparision's might not hold any merit, but then again ya never know it just might..lol!
Not only was this seed grown in the same exact year, the cross is the exact same, and its weight is surprisingly close to 1068 lbs. Even the seed itself looks surprisingly similar to the 1068 seed. I think this is a good omen!,LOL

I think you'are on to something... I know many have mentioned it before but there are many fantastic crosses out there that just dont get planted. I planted C.Houghtons 1058 last year (same year, just the reverse cross I believe.) It was a personal best for me! Good Luck with this one... hope you can find room for it in the patch. Jim (missed ya at ovgpg)

Look At the 961 Wallace. Same cross grown the same year and both the 1068 and 961 were pollinated by the same 898 Knuass. Also if you look at the pictures they both looked the same.

Has anyone planted the 961? I don't see anything listed on aggc .are there pictures of the 961 somewhere?

the 961 just never produced on a limited eary planting like the 1068 did
so i guess in this case the mother (845) of the 1068 has the right genes while the 845 mother of the 961 did not.

Many of the best seeds in the world are setting in every growers storage. Just setting there for someone to take a unproven seed and planting it. Everyone loves to plant the best and hottest seed out there. Just think if Quinn Werner never planted Joe Pukos 998.6......... Mr. Jutras would of never planted it..... 1689.

There is a picture of it on this website. Go to the pictures of the 2003 topsfield weighoff. It is under weigh-offs on the front page.
