Im right with Richard, 1198 Gibson because it was very heavy over chart

I'd pick the 1207 Young. It went heavy to the chart and was pollinated by the plant that grew the largest 1068 Wallace offspring so far.
Another I like is the 1348 Hester. It went 17.9% heavy to the chart.

I'm with Doug. The 1348 Hester is on my list. The 1068 pollinator grew the 1400 Hester. Of the ones you listed I like the 1207 Young the best. Due to what the pollinator plant did.

the 1207 was basicly treated like a red head step child. I believe when the plant was little it was dug up by a coon or something over nite and Don found it the next morning and replanted it. After that I think it pretty much grew itself while Don was spending most of his time, energy and resources on what became the second largest pumpkin in the world. I believe that under better circumstances the 1207 had another 100 lbs in her. Don speak up if I am not recalling this correctly. Anyhow, my vote is for the 1207 Young (I am planting it) because both the 1370 and 1068 parent plants were stars (produced over 1200) both went % heavy and both had huge monster stems on them... those were the coolest stems I had EVER seen!

904 Stelts is obviously a good one too. and proven to 1500+ pounds.

Mike said it all. I have the 1207 Young and I will plant it. I also plan on crossing it with the 801 Young.

Undoubtedly the 1207. I am growing it next season and it will be one of the hottest seeds in auction next year. Look for a few Iowa pumpkins in '08 to be over 1500 with the 1207 as a parent. I would actually make a much bolder prediction that the first 1700 pounder will be grown from the 1207.

From your list I would go with the 1207, but you forgot one the 904 Stelts. Already grown a 1500 LB pumpkin and four over 1000 LB and most were over the chart and not many saw dirt. Not sure why the 904 isn't talked about much, people are making a big mistake by over looking this seed, a lot of growers from the OVGPG will have the 904 in this year.

I dont think the 904 is listed on AGGC and maybe that is why it is over looked?

The 904 is on the AGGC, but none of its progeny are.

Since I don't have any of theses seeds, they are all good. BUT 904 stelts produced 1500.

The above mentioned seeds are all from good growers who I trust to make sound crosses with a proven track record of producing great seeds. The 904 only had 6 plants grown in '07 that I know of and 5 of the 6 went over 1,000#'s all fruit went from 2% to 20% heavy. I had 1,537#'s (2% heavy)on mine and Mark Richard had one split the 3rd week of August at 1,336#'s (4% heavy) still growing 35 pounds a day. Plant what you want but I know my 904 will be going in my patch, from what I saw last year this seed has WR potential.

You guys aren't making this any easier !

I think all are great seeds. pretty much all had great shape and color, and male polinator did well. I haven't had as much time to research this off season as I normally have.
I don't remember all this stuff off the top of my head.

Dave not sure if I have your 904 I'll have to double check. I think I might. I had forgotten that it grew your 1537 and other. They're not on the AGGC.

1348 Hester is not on AGGC either.

Bryson - email sent- remeber there is a thing called address book ... :)

Frank 4- as happens some times when I read your posts... I'm not sure what you are talking about?!

I could find a 904... in fact I couldn't find any Stelts seeds - which is strange since I know I got some from Dave that year. !?!

Pap- I would be happy with 1,000+ since my PB is 963. but 1105 would be better (Utah record is 1104)

The 1068 that pollinated the 1235.5 Daletas also grew Steve's 1408.5. How could you not like that parentage?
