I have a 930.5 La Rue and a 1014 Holland growing... considering both plants grow strong, yet space gets limited.... which one would you use just to pollinate the females and then pull for space? I'm planning to grow both of these in a Flag pattern side by side.... if something goes wrong with one I can then still utilize my whole patch by allowing side vines on both sides. Hopefully it wont come down to this... but some thinking has to be done before hand so the decision can be made.

lil mack you have to go with your gut feeling on that one.The 1014 produced a monster last year.theres a reason you picked those seeds go with the one you feel best about.

Arrrggghhhhh!!!! I Know... they're both great! I want to give them both there best shot, hopefully one will "decide" for me. I do have a spare La Rue for next year, but how do you pull a plant that is a cross of the 1502 and 998? That's insane, right?

Yeah, I do like that the Holland has been proven, but so far it has been slow to germinate and then its cots are very curled.... still waiting for my first true leaf.... BUT.... Paps says cots don't mean a thing... AND I am a woman... and the Holland apparently likes the ladies! LOL! Its gotta be heat tolerant being grown in Monrovia, (which is my hometown) maybe even prefers heat... so I do have heating cables installed as well if its hometown of Washington is not warm enough for it. Did anybody else grow this last year other than Michelle Lofthouse and if so what did it do for them?

Monrovia is your home town?....really? Cool! I've always been rather envious of the folks living up in your area because it's so much more condusive to growing giant pumpkins. I'm actually at the very south east end of Monrovia, almost in Duarte on Orange (is there any other color?) ave. I'm not growing the 1014 again this year (call me crazy) but am trying all 2007 seeds just to see if I can make some new discoveries. Good luck Glen and Lil'Mac with that 1014!!

Thanks Michelle! Well actually Flintridge... I used to work on the float under the freeway overpass in high school too. I doubt I'll come anywhere close to your record, but I plan on having fun trying! Kris
