Now don't quote me, but I think that pumpkin came from two different pumpkins, one grown by this Daletas guy and the other from that same Daigle guy.

Why not plant it? It looks like a good cross, with both parents having either been over 1000 pounds, or thrown 1000+ pounders.

These days there are a LOT of very good seeds out there. I think that the genetic ability to go over 1200 pounds is more common that what we think, and we are getting to the point where grower ability, as well as weather or other environmental factors is having more to do with potential vs. outcome.

There are so many good seeds that many will never hit dirt as there is just not room to plant them all and give them good care. I think that seeds already exist that can go over 1800 with the right care, just has either not been found, or put in the right patch yet.

Dennis told me the 670 pollinator produced a fruit that went down to a stem split.He didn't grow the 988 and doesn't know of any offspring.
