Can't find any info on these seeds. Did they exist? If so, what were the genetics? Thanks for any help.

I just discovered the AGGC (Atlantic Giant Genetics Cooperative) site when Mike Nepereny posted a link here on the forum with a free guest account last week for everyone to try out. I'm amazed at what a great resource he has built there. PumpkinLink and BriansInsanity are also great sites that I enjoy using but there are many different queries and types of research you can do on AGGC that you can't find anywhere else. For one thing it is more up-to-date and complete (# of entries) than any AG resource I have seen on the internet. The whole thing is keyed to pumpkin color. It allows me to research seeds by the four things that are particularly interesting to me: growing climate, patch size (sq feet),disease level and insect level. You are probably not going to find that information in any other source. There are many other pieces of information you can query too, beyond those 4 that I mentioned. You could ask specific growers about that info for a specific seed. But if you want to compare a lot of competitive pumpkins (thousands) for those characteristics I think the only way you are going to get it is from the AGGC database. It's only $20 to join. It looks like Mike is considering whether to continue the site beyond 2010 because membership is starting to fall off. I highly recommend anyone interested in researching what seeds to cross and the history of their plants' lineage join. My pumpkin budget is really tight/small but I figure the $20 for this unique resource is well worth it.
