Brooks, it's the 643.5 Beachy X 805 Pukos. The 643.5 Beachy is 252.5 Beachy 2003 X 683.5 Beachy 2003. I have a couple 458 Beachys 2008. They're the #50 Beachy X 1402 Bosworth. You can have them for just one 1068 Wallace!

Thanks Tom! I really like that 730 Stellpflug in there! Many grower might not know this , but the 730 back in the day when 1000lbs was hard to reach was the leading seed for a long time that grew pumpkins on the extra extra heavy side.
I sure would like to find that 730 on day to grow,(if there is even a crumb left of the 730 still in existence).

Great cross Tom making the 1402 the pollinator,,lol. The 1402 might not grow them big huge pumpkins, but it does do alot better as pollinator from what little I have seen so far.

Brooks, if you really want to grow a 730, you may want to look for more than one. They are also known for their low germination rates. The use of GA3 may also be advised. Good luck, BF

hey you

Hey Brooks, do you remember a grower named Kyle Little? I don't know if he grows anymore, but I think his alias on here was Southern. He made a cross between the 730 and the 898 Knauss a few years ago. That might be the next best thing to an actual 730.

Yea I think he still lurks on here now and then. I also think he did a 730 x sibb or it might have been a selfed 730 cross.

I think crossing a old school seed like that into the new stuff we have today could be interesting to see what they could end up growing.

Brooks, I tried to germ about 15- 730's with no luck. I also agree with you on bringing the 730 genetics into some of todays best seed lines. Tom Beachy has a few 730 crosses sibbed and selfed. Those were tough to germinate for me too but I may give em another try.

I have some 730 Stellpflug x 946.5 Geerts laying around, also some others too, will have to check
and how about this:
833 Handy x 906 Handy (the 833 was 33% heavy grown from the 730, heaviest I know of from it, the 906 was also very heavy)

For anyone who will grow it in 2010, I have my 609 Fawcett '07 available for a bubbler. 609 = 1450 Wallace(1068 Wallace x sib) x 737 Fawcett(827 Holland '92 x self). The 737 was grown as just another genetics plant and had over 2000lbs of fruit on it. It was the strongest plant I've ever grown and wasn't treated any differently than any others.
As good a chance as any to prove Hybrid Vigor in AGs. BF
