I was looking through the Aggc at different seeds today and that 1611 Daho grown off the 1180 Pukos is rather impressing to say the least.
To grow a 1600 lber in your second year of growing in the weather conditions of Europe/France and even in a green house setting where your not getting the full Ultra violet rays is really a accomplishment in its self. It just makes you wonder how this seed would do in the States or Canada?,, I'm saying pretty darn good!,,lol.
I think your going to see alot of European growers have this seed in the ground next year with out question, along with alot of other growers from the States and Canada as well.

What do you guys think about the 1180 Pukos seed?

Brooks, I don´t think weather conditions in Europe are worse than in Northamerica. In some areas perhaps better lol. And it seems the 1180 is not longer a secret tip.

I planned to plant it last year, but decided to hold off a year due to work load concerns. Unless I get my mind changed again, it is in my 2010 lineup.

lol Jos!!! there I go again sticking my foot in my mouth,,LOL,, sorry guys! ha!
I didnt know that Benny, I always thought it was a little cooler climate in Europe( and Im not meaning Colorado cool ether,,lol). Seems like it rains alot there in Germany and your summers are a bit cooler that dont last as long as ours do here in the states(ohio), well thats how I always perceived it anyway, since my Mom was born and raised in England and from the stories she had told me. I have never been to Europe, but always wanted to .

George, I plan on planting my 1180 right in the middle of my four 1068 Wallace plants............,,lol, I wish! ha!

That 1385 is a tuff seed to find George,if I could find one Id grow it, but not many left out there or that growers want to part with one, and ya cant blame em!,lol
best of luck growing the 1385 next year.

Didn't Mehdi say he grew it all organic as well? If so I think that is quite an accomplishment as well.

The 1462 Gibson is the reverse cross of the 1385. Should be able to find some of those. I have one and grew another one from which I have about 500 seeds from both pumpkins.

Hi Brooks

yes I grew it 100% organic.
The weather has been very sunny and warm during the summer and in september which help a lot.
The plant had Huge leaves, very aggressive with the tips of each vines growing toward the sky. The mainvine was very thick. It wasn't my best fruit but after 30 days, the fruit starts to grow at an impressive rate. Even after 116 days and -2°C at night, the fruit was still growing.
What a plant !

I grew the 1180 Pukos. I'm a first time grower. It was a healthy plant and an agressgve grower. It stopped growing a month out. It went 20% heavy and weighed 679. My organtic levels where way low so thats why it was stunted. Definitly a seed to plant.

I grew the 1180.5 Pukos and crossed it with the 1462 Gibson in 2008. Both were great plants and the fruit was exceptionally thick. unfortunatly I was not able to take them to a weighoff but my tractor wouldnt lift the 1180.5 with a lifting ring and its max lift capacity was #1200. The 1180.5 was a creamy color with some orange at the stem end. Lots of seeds from both sitten in the closet...
