My two females in 2010 will be the 1462 Gibson and the 1166 Mohr (thanks Pete). I have the following seeds as the pollinator, which would you use and why?

980 Mohr 09
1164 Finders 09
1260 Gibson 08
848 Dwelly 07
1258 Dwelly 06
1190 Dwelly 07
1446 Werner 06
886 Hester 05

I like the 1446 Werner as the pollinator for the 1462 and the 1260 Gibson as the pollintaor for the 1166 myself.

The 1164 Finders is unproven but could be a good pollinator. Lots of heavy in that seed. The 1258 has some good genetics and has produced a big pumpkins as well.

The 1166 Mohr I think will be a good seed. Great shape and a good cross.

This is just a suggestion, but why don't you consider "growing local" with your pollinator? There are a lot of good growers in California, and a lot of good seeds with those growers' names on them.

If you don't believe me, just take a look at the results from the California weigh offs this year:

A lot of big pumpkins grown off seeds from Urena, Glasier, Martin, Miller, etc.

i personally like anything with 1041 genes in it. the 1041 and the 1185 daletas 08 (1041 x 898) both produced 1100 pounders for me that went heavy. the 1164 finders 09 came from a power house 1041 seed crossed with more heavy genetics in the 1255. besides the pumpkins, the 1041 genes i feel produce one of the most aggressive plants out there. so i would go with the 1164 even though it is unproven. should be a great pollinator and produce a big heavy pumpkin.
