Under the Radar Seeds, EXPOSED!

Well, I have been doing some seed searching and I can across these seeds that I have not found mentioned by many people (if any). Looking at the background of these seeds I felt they are auction worthy and if you want a chance to pick any up they will be available this Friday at the Team-Pumpkin auction.

-1013 Williams ‘07 (F: 500 Northrup ‘04 x M: 1016 Daletas ‘01)
This was a great looking pumpkin that had consistent color and a long shape. Adding the 1016 Daletas added in more color and grow power. Just look at the next pumpkin...

-903.5 Williams ‘09 (F: 1013 Williams ‘07 x M: 1385 Jutras ‘07)
Does this pumpkin look familiar? (It should.) This is the closest pumpkin I have seen to the bigpumpkins.com logo, and wow, what great color! Why has the 1013 Williams not been planted more, probably because no one has heard about it. So, here is the public announcement.

-1112 Williams ‘09 (F: 1385 Jutras ‘07 x M: 1161 Rodonis ‘07)
The seeds out of this pumpkin combine some of the best seeds currently out there in one.

-928.5 Desrosier ‘09 (F: 985 Werner ‘06 x M: 1385 Jutras ‘07)
For those that do not know this is the man who keeps bigpumpkins.com running, and this past year he was doing double duty with his patch and website. His seeds should also be given some attention even if he busy updating the website instead of his diary;-)

-1211 Toftness ‘09 (F: 1385 Jutras ‘07 x M: 1354.5 Daletas ‘05)
Great color and shape crossed with a seed know for its consistent % heavy.

-The entire Gansert collection, or as he is more publically know “abbynormal” take a look at his diary from this year as well as years past and you will see that it is hard to pick one pumpkin. Team-Pumpkin tried to select a few that look very good and some have proven themselves, so take some time and see what this grower has been growing on the hill side of orange.

2009 Diary link: http://www.bigpumpkins.com/Diary/DiaryView.asp?season=2009&grower=24241&action=L

-Very over looked seed... 971.5 Sperry ‘07 (F: 998 Pukos ‘05 x M: 1068 Wallace ‘03)
This is the reverse cross of the famous 1385 and it was only grown down the road from the 1385 during the same year! Can not afford or find a 1385, this may be a great alternative for access to the same basic genetics.
Sorry could not find a picture.

These are just a few of the seeds that I found in my below the radar hunt. I also was able to contact the growers so that everyone could have a chance at these seeds during the Team-Pumpkin auction. I hope this helps add a few more seeds to growers lists that they may not have originally thought of.

Also, if anyone else has an under the radar seed please mention it here so that everyone can take a look at it. Pictures would be helpful if possible.

There are a lot of other CT seeds under the radar. It is a shame we are all not working together.

my compliments to matt and "team pumpkin" members for trying alternative methods to raise fund for their orginazition.
its easy to follow the leader in this hobby. i remember when there were no such thing as auctions and promos however, those that can develop new methods and create interest for their fundraising, building individual club memberships ,etc, will always prevail.

good job matt

It is a shame no one knows what goes on behind the scenes. For such a small state we are so far apart in helping each other. And for those of you who think myself and others have not tried you have no idea what you are talking about. I will leave it at that.

Ray, I just want to make sure that you dont think I was laughing at your comment, I wanted to let you know that I was laughing at what Matt said about me, that was all in fun.

As far as what your talking about, I have no idea about and I wont pry into what seems like a serious situtation. Good luck with that, hope it works out one day.
