If you have two plants one with the best new genetics (first choice) and a back up with average genetics at what point would you have to choose the back up over your first choice?

depends on the room you have. if you plant them 2' apart I would cut one off when at the max length of 3'. You may think you know which one your going with befor but the latter you can pick the better as a double vine, deseise, or pest can wipe out the better plant at any time

Yep, I'd say that 20% of all the plants I plant end up double-vining. You don't want to be stuck with a double-vining plant. If it's at all possible, grow two plants side by side until you're reasonably sure that the plant you want is normal.
