Anyone growing this seed this year? Would really like to keep track on it's progress, sounds like a very interesting Big and Orange contender!!!

it will be interesting to see what is grown off the 700. Brad P did the same cross in '08 and grew it last year:

Jed that is a very interesting cross! There aren't too many seeds out there with both 772 and 603.5 in them and then add the 1385 for size that sounds real good.

Im growing it, I have a great feeling about that seed , and Im taking a wild guess thinking and hoping its going to grow a really BIG bright orange pumpkin, but we will find that out soon enough, growing season is just around the corner!

This Seeds (700 & 625) stands also with me far on top on the list for 2010. Nice shape and colour have persuaded me.

I,m growing the 1385 and the 772,,, was thinking of selfing them,,, But I came up with a better idea,,, I,m going to start the 1225 Jutras use it as pollenaitor,,and cross both ,,, if possible. (1385 x 1225) (772 x 1225) I think the 1225 would be a great poll. Tell me what you think.

Frank 4: Introducing the 1225 Jutras is exactly along the lines of what I was thinking in 2008...
Take a look at this cross that I did in 2008.
480.5 McMillan 08' (1290 Poirier X 819. VanHook)

819.5 VanHook (932.5 Tanner 05' X 998 Pukos)
932.5 Tanner 05'(1225 Jutras X Self)

Untapped Big and Orange potential in the 480.5 McMillan 08'
Shoot me a Bubble If you want to be the first to test out it's potential?

Frank, as far as selfing goes my gut feeling is this: the 1385 was already selfed by Ms. Harp so unless you break 1725 it would have a hard time getting popular. And the 772, similar story with a slight twist. A nice 772 that is selfed with good shape and color and weighing at least 900 pounds would be appealing. To me seeds from a selfed pumpkin are just not worth growing unless the pumpkin itself is absolutely perfect for whatever that thing is that you might be going for. Jim

Bumpkin,Frank, From talking with Bill through emails Im pretty sure ether Bill or his wife Linda will be growing that 700 seed this year , and I would think Linda is excited about growers growing it this year instead of them all the time always growing Bill's seeds,,LOL,,, Give Linda's seed a try and you might just grow bigger pumpkins then you get from Bill's seeds,,lol!!
Ain't that right Bill?,,,ha!!!
