Do you have a pic of your 923. I'd like to know the cross of you 434 as well if you don't mind. I noticed the 923 for sale on the pumpkinfest site but I need a visual, thanks.

Sure here you go Andy:

The 434 has some power in it, as you can see from the other 434 I grew in 2009, which I lost just before the weighoff. It was open pollinated, so I didn't bother with a final est. weight or to keep the seeds on this one but trust me it was big:

The 434 is 1230 Daletas x 603.5 Muller. The 923 is 434 x 603.5 Muller.

Jim

I know that I for one am going to prove the hell out of that 923 this year so it could be a good investment!

What a great deal, four seeds in total, both excellent orange potential for the price of a large pizza ( + tip lol ) Prove the hell out of it Jim!

I agree Brooks. I have been doing my homework on orange potential and Jim's crosses may prove to be some of the best out there. Other than the 1258 Wallace ( thanks Dick ) I'm looking for florescent orange. Remember the Midas phrase, first you get good then you get fast. Replace orange for good and heavy for fast, lol. Did you see that 923, you almost need sunglasses. I love having so many great choices .

thanks for the confidence booster guys. i'm not just growing orange this year i've got the 1421.5 a 1677.5 and a 1236* so look out. no worries i've got another 603.5 to cross the 923 with this year. that makes 3 generations of 603.5 as the pollinator. if you look close at the better orange seeds out there you see that it is the male that has more influence on the orange trait.
