I've talked my son's middle school into doing a 7trh grade vs. teachers on campus pumpkin growing competition. I haven't growen pumpkins in about 6 years and everything has changed. Where would be a good place to get seed and has anybody seen seed that is resistant to powdery mildew. This will be a challenge since we live in San Diego CA and are very costal. I'll take any help or advice I can get. Hope to put the plants in the ground by the first week of June.

Atlantic Giants are more resistant to PM than regular field pumpkins but they still get it. Being a school you can't spray any chemical but you can spray a 10-40% solution of low fat milk once or twice a week. It works well too.

Some growers have limited PM by mixing cornmeal into the soil.
