1. Never splits.
2. protruding blossom end
3. shallow ribs
4. heavey
5. long term consistant growth.
6. Big


what doen't matter is

1. color
2. stock length
3. heat tollerance

Sean - shoot me an email this winter if you have any trouble finding a 1041. I think there might be a couple nice pumpkins off the 1041 yet.

I have a 1556 Werner but doesn't throw quit what I need.

991 Urene not quit what I need

undecided on 1725 yet.

793 Van Hook is a great cross but still not quit what I want.

The "275 Van Hook" is definitely the one I'd grow if I was looking for what your looking for.
