            | bossen | Saskatchewan Fosston Canada | Am i still able to trade seeds who are handpolinated with 2-3 or more males from different plants.Or am i not allowed to do that?Is it a must that it has to be only one male?I have 3 plants every year.and i cross them both ways.Is that ok or is it a no no?Maybe a stupid question,i dont know.I would like to do the things the correkt way.Thanks.Bossen.

            | ZAPPA | Western PA | Generally, only flowers from 1 male plant are used to get a "controlled cross".If you used males from several different plants , then that would be considered an open polination ,because you really don't know which plant did the deed.I think the seeds would be less desired because most people are looking for certain traits. But, that does not mean you can't grow a big pumpkin from a seed that was open pollinated.
