here are some 2009 seeds that kicked butt in 2010.
1421, 1544, 1725, 1236, 1303, 1622, 1276, 1330.5, 1678, 1143, 1462.5, 1662.5, 1596, 1488, 954, 1434, 1185, 1127, 1287, 1240, 1456, 1432, 1325, 1242, just to name a few from the gpc overall 2010 results page. you can see the last names of the crosses there. these should all see dirt by heavy hitters next year with some gettting planted more than others based on multiple monsters produced and seed counts.
2008 seeds that also kicked butt in 2010
1140, 1288, 1381, 1375, 883
older hot seeds that continued to kick butt
1161, 1385, 991, 985, 1207, 1180, 1306, 1462
2010 crosses are too many to mention and i am not 100 percent sure of what the pollinating plants produced for all the 2010 crosses. but based on the aggc showing the pollinator's results also, the 2 seeds that i will acquire at auctions this year for certain for my collection will be the 1605 sweet 2010 for big-n-heavy x huge. its the 1303 sweet (15%) x the 1161 that produced the huge 438" ott 1725 sweet. and the second seed i will maked sure to acquire if available is the 1286.5 daletas 2010 for freak heavy 1288 (22.3%) x 991 that produced the freak heavy 1394 that was 23.4% heavy.

sorry if i missed anyone's seeds, i just threw this together while watching the bears game at the same time. please feel free to add to the list of any older or newer seeds to keep an eye out for when its time to bid. there will be some very good deals out there this year with the multitude of great crosses. hopefully this will help you figure out which seeds can help you get to the next level. i wish everyone good luck come auction time and encourage everyone to make at least one purchase this year to help out the clubs. to new growers out there, many seeds can be attained for free, but i still encourage you to get a taste of bidding for a seed and winning it and growing it. no matter what you do, when you pay for it yourself it seems to get a little more love in the patch. call it what you will, but it can be the carrot in front of the mule that keeps your eye on the prize all season long knowing the potential.

ron and i are very impressed with some of the genetics put together last year and this. as the run of 1161, etc, seeds peter out? somethings got to take us to the next level. it could very well be from a 2010 seed stock or a mix of a 2010 seed crossed with a strong pollinator from something a few years earlier. pap

I'll be honest with you I LIKE the 1596 Wallace. I grew a big blocky pumpkin in a small area with it. I will be planting that seed this season. That seed will be a proven seed. I guarentee. It had no stem issues that where out of cmtrol. A definite marquee seed in the future.

I wonder if the 1409 Whittier 2009 will be grown at all in 2011? It was 1161 x 985 Werner (1370 Rose x 898 knuass).
The 1409 itself had great color and we all know what the 1370 Rose offspring tend to look like.
Now if only the 1161 could do anything special...

Your posting is excellent and very much appreciated! However, if I could not be serious for a moment it reminded me of the joke about the guy in prison who wanted to tell a joke and all the inmates had memorized the jokes and just yelled out the number and everyone laughed! He yelled out a number and noone laughed. His cell mate said, well some people know how to tell a joke and others don't. The numbers you mentioned are very informative and I wish to thank you again for your post!

Pap, I met with my friend Carl today and passed him a bag with the following + a few more. 900 Wallace 09 - 1068 Wallace x 1161 Rodonis, 1007 Wallace 09- 840 Parks x 1385 Jutras. My personal feeling is that the genetics are already there, only the growing techniques will continue to improve.
1068 Wallace x 1161 Rodonis, really! and don't get me started on the 1596 and 1258...
