If I an going to buy good seeds this year do I use them for the female or a male pollinator for all the plants?

El Paso TX.

The female plant will be the only one that influences that years pumpkin results -- the Male pollinator only effects the seeds inside the pumpkin and the pumpkins that will be grown in future years using those seeds !

You can make any cross you want. Pollinate the good seeds with a male from the plant you grew this year or pollinate the plant you grew this year with the good seeds you get this year. There are alot of free offers for seeds for the price of a sasbe. They are really good seeds, at aggc.org you can view pumpkins click on the family tree hierarchy and see what seeds made those seeds.

I'm not sure I understand your question, but I'd use it for both. If you feel you have one plant that is superior to the others I would use it as a pollinator for other plants and, of course, grow a pumpkin on it.

Not sure I understand either, you can do anything you want, you don't have to use the plant you used this year. You can join a club, or all the clubs. Take advantage of all the seed offers, ask for seeds, etc, you don't have to cross pollinate either, let the bee's do it or a flower from the same plant, anything.

A plant can be used as both a grower and a pollinator. Each plant will produce both female and male flowers which can be utilized interchangeably within the patch.

Good seeds are good seeds, you should grow a pumpkin on each plant.Pollinate any way you want ,as Forrest Gump says its like a box of chocalates you never know what your gonna git!

JDFan. Gave me what I was looking for. Ex. If I was lucky enough and had a 1725 or a 1161. I would want to use that as a pollinator so my seeds in the future would be better.
