Wow Stephan! If you are a believer, or open minded to hybrid vigor, Stephan's 891.5 is as good as it gets. NO I'm not saying the seed is a hybrid, however, the introduction of the 901 Hunt to the 1068 over crossing could be very promising.

I like crosses with the 1725 harp in them. The 1325 sperry,1673.5 connolly and even my 1204.5 scherber could be good.

I believe in that cross and will plant it 2011.
Also I will plant my 941 again and a sibbed 941.
Maybe at some time I get one cross out of these that does it like the 1068 :-)))

Our 2010 seed for next years is 1080 Hunt (1678 Hunt x 898 Knauss). We also like our 1329 (901 Hunt x 1068 Wallace). Well we're hoping anyways. LOL. We'll grow one of them.

There are sooooo many good seeds out there today. Go with a seed that you'll feel good about growing or grow your own seed from the previous season. You never know.

1362 vanHoutte (10) is one to look at. Only other cross same as the 1810. It went 7% heavy.

Yes, our seeds will be included in the 2011 GVGO membership seed packages. We finally had pumpkins with enough seeds to give out to the membership.

Joe V, that 1362 Vanhoutte might be a good one. The 1421 plant grew Don's 1359 dmg. the pumpkin was Don's best one in his patch when it developed a soft spot on the bottom. When you consider that Don grows anywhere from 50-100 plants the best grower being the 1421 ,I would say it has great potentual.

i will try my 1209 shenoha 2010 in 2011. a 20% heavy female crossed with a 991 plant that produced a 414" ott that was a long and wide pumpkin. hoping the cross results will be about a 405" ott plus pumpkin that goes about 15% heavy which would put me over the 1600 pound mark. but really i am dreaming it produces a 414" ott pumpkin that goes 20% heavy which would go 1777 lbs.

Another one to look at, 1378 Companion from this year. Was 10% heavy, same cross as the 1288 Wallace.
