I am thinking about pollanting the 1236 Harp with a 1197 Matesa next year does this seem like a good cross to give me a 1000+ pumpkin?

the 1236 harp is certainly good enough to produce big. the results of your pollination will not be known until you grow out the 1236, dry the seeds from that pumpkin and plant the seeds in 2012. in other words the pollinator has no effect on next years pumpkin.it comes into play after seeds are harvested, etc.

That 1197 Matesa is a selfed 1161 Rodonis. I think its a very good option they are very closely related.
Both the 1197 and 1236 have all of these:1446 Eaton, 1420 Larue, 845 Bobier and 898 Knuas close up as ancestors.
