ive noticed that the seeds that are producing the wr pumpkins are from 2007 crop.1385jutras,1161,rodonis.and some more that have came close.1207 young,1566rodonis,1556werner,1306 jutras,1350starr,1368liggett,1462gibson and im sure there's more but that has to be the best year in the history of pumpkin growing, mite just be a lucky year.

I noticed that too. I think it's more of a sign of how seeds are chosen. Looking back at past years' results, it appears that the best seeds are normally from two or three years previous. I think that's been the normal lag time for good seeds to be "proven".
Don't get me wrong though. I think those WR producers are great seeds (how could I not?), but it does help to have a lot of offspring and a couple years of grower attention to help prove it.

I agree, the 3 year rule for a seed to get popular. Watch what happens to the 1421.5 Stelts and some other seeds after the 2011 season.
