A few questions about AG X Jumbo Pink Banana Squash.....Has this cross been done before? What was grown from the seeds of the cross...any pictures? If I were to do this cross (I plan to for 2011) would there be a difference in the offspring from the seeds from the AG or the Banana squash? What I mean is would the offspring from the AG seeds be more AG with a little banana type thrown in and reverse for the banana squash seeds if I do a reverse cross. I hope someone understands what I asked.....I barely do. Thanks for any input.

I have seeds from that cross, which I did in 2009 (AG (1272 Brunst[898.5]) x pink banana) and (pink banana x AG (1272 Brunst[898.5])).
I grew out just 1 seed from both this year, but not in a competition patch. I'd say they looked similar. They are both 50% AG and 50% banana, so that is what we'd expect. I have pics. email me at my handle @gmail.com This year, I did the F2 cross (sib), a back cross with AG (1421 Stelts[1307]) and a back cross with banana.
If you want seeds from any of those let me know.

I think we planted a mix like this in 2009. We had several 80 lb banana squash. I have found if you plant a Banana x AG you get better results than an AG x banana. But again we have had several from the Giant Veggie Seed Exchange that you plant 4 plants they all produce something different. Eddy Z had a Red Warty Thing x like an 801.5 Stelts that produced a beautiful Rew Warty Thang Every time.
