looking for opinions as to what crosses we should make. We are planting 1674 marsh 1634 werner 1605 sweet 1596 werner 1592 platte 1554 rose 1548 marsh 1495 stelts

genetics of all those are great. with 8 plants, I would guess maybe one stands out as the strongest. you could pollinate everything with that one. as for making wild guesses with unproven seeds, my favorite would be (1596 werner x 1605 sweet) and the reverse cross...

1634 wernerx1605 sweet.you can plan out on paper but usually youll have a weak plant that messes up your plans. i like petes go with your best plants as pollinators- but i'd mix it up a little so you dont have all your eggs (I mean seed) in one basket

A very wise man and a former WR holder once told me "a good mother makes a good father". In other words look at your plants and use the strongest as your pollinators. Genetics might look awesome on paper but a 90 lb weakling as the pollinator just does not cut it. All seeds are not created equal.
