Earlier a post was made about clones that brounght up something I have thought about for a few years. I first thought about it when Thad Starr started doing crosses with some of his cloned plants from previous years.
Seems to me a new identifier needs to be made when a cross is done with a clone. If crosses using clones turn out to be as successful as I think they will be, then to just list a cross as 1663 x 1421 is kind of a dis-service to a grower who is researching crosses when the 1421 is a 1663 clone. I don't believe that there are going to be any 1,500+ pounders grown from a clone plant and if I see a 750 pound pumpkin listed that 1161 x 1421 I probably wouldn't think a lot of it. But if I knew the 1161 was a 1725 Sweet clone crossed with a 1663 clone then that 750 pound pumpkin looks a lot more interesting.
Am I over thinking this or should there be an indicator on pumpkinlink.com when I clone is used for a cross and are there any suggestions on the proper way this should be done?

I'd propose something like this:
750 Grower (1161 Rodonis [1725 S] x 1421 Stelts [1663 Z])
This is consistent with what has been proposed before to identify pollinators. It identifies the genetic potential of that particular plant's parents. One could put grower's full names in with the [] weights if needed, but that gets kind of long.
