Since I bought the Checkon lot last nite, just curious as to what the pollinating 1421 plant produced?, can't find anything, did the checkons loose the pumpkin on this plant? Any info on this pollinating plant is appreciated. Thanks.

Looks like the 1226 Checkon was from the pollinating plant.

The 1226 was on his 1421 Stelts not his 1421 Checkon. He told me that the 1421 Checkon had a fruit that split in early September around 1100+ pounds probably due to an imperfect pollination.

Split because of an imperfect pollination? I've never heard of that before and I definately have had some imperfect pollinations!

The fruit on the 1421 seemed to start out normally but after about day 20 the top hemisphere started to outpace the bottom. It appeared to be due to imperfect pollination much like zuchinnis and other fruit that deform when not pollinated well. This caused the bottom to become very concave and it split in early September at about 1100 lbs. It was very hot that week and we had another plant that had all pols fail.
