I have a plant with folded up seed cot leaves and I was just wondering if it should be put in the patch or not?
The stock is very large and it took a couple more days longer to germinate then the rest of my seeds,so I really don't know about this one. You can see it in my diary,

Cots don't mean much Benj.Won't be long and you will forget they were even there. Put it in the patch, let the plant grow out and then decide!!!

The picture that is in your diary reminds me of one of my plants that i started. It had trouble shedding the shell. Your plant looks good to my amateur eyes with the exception of the deformed cots. If it was me...i would plant it and keep everyone here informed on how it does. By the way...where about is Kakabeka Falls...it reminds me of Kekekabic trail in minnesota which was described described by explorers in the 1800's (not possitive on the date) as "hell on earth"

i agree with Donkin, all the cots do is give it enough energy to get started, looks like that is working. Give it a chance.

Thanks for the advice guys, I am keeping my eye on this one for sure!
The seed is the 1176 Lombardi( 1421 Stelts x 1161 Rodonis) great genetics in this one. I sure hope it turns out to be a great plant.

bnot, Kakabeka falls is 20 miles west of Thunder Bay, Ontario
and it has a beautiful set of falls, and it is also referred to as Niagra of the North.
If you every make it up this way you have to stop and view the falls. It has a beautifull park and campground, with all the hook ups. All the best in your patch this year.
Ben.

Benj,
I really like the genetics on the 1176. As long as the true leaves grow well/normally, I wouldn't worry about the curled cots. I hope it does well for you. I'm growing the reverse cross.....1027 Lombardi 11(1161 Rodonis X 1421 Stelts). Both should have good potential for big/orange.

Thanks Doug, my plan is to cross the 1176 with the 1059 Vincent/McGill
Should be a good cross if the 1176 makes it.

Ok, here is the 1176 Lombardie after 1 week in the garden.
The 1176 is on the right.
