I like those lancaster's also(1789 that went 17% heavy). Plan on crossing them with our 1655(1789 x self 7% heavy). Sounds like a no brainer to me. Heavy 1789 x Heavy 1789!

hmmm since we are talking Orange. I am going 1048 Engel and possibly a Kruger seed 669 :) That 723, and 811 does look good might have to get one for a back up

Orangeneck (Team HAMMER)

Yep Andy I've been working on this line for 7 years now, mostly backcrossing the 1230 Daletas x 603.5 Muller back into the 603.5 year after year. With the addition of the 1332 Wolf I wasn't sure how it would turn out but the first year results were so good I'm going for broke.

Self all six 811's and try and get a lock on one or two of them. At least it made it easier to decide to donate my proven and popular seeds for the MAGPG auction.

Since my actual preseason "lineup" has really never worked yet, here's the ones I will likely be at least starting, 498 Van Hook 08 (1385 Jutras x 1450 Wallace) - I really need to give this one another shot after how well it did for me in 2010, 1634 Werner, 1057.6 Van Hook (991 Urena x 1725 Harp), 1426 Wolf, 1249.8 Matesa, 901 Wolf. I will grow 2 plants for sure, possibly 3, Ideally right now I want the 498 Van Hook, and a 1634 Werner, the 3rd to be decided.

I should read my post better before hitting the button, it was 2011 I grew the 498 not 2010.

Good Chris, then it'll be a great cross with the Gerhardt orange!

I didn't have the Eye of the Tiger in 2012; didn't even do a soil test. It's back though like in 2011, and cannot wait till Spring.
