SELF: Advantage is that pollen and female came from the same plant which shows the traits you want to enhance in the next generation. Disadvantage is there in case of damaged genetics, which perhaps won´t show up as a trait of the plant as the damaged gene and its healthy corresponding gene should be sufficient to run a healthy plant, but when selfed you have a 25% chance of getting the damaged x damaged genetic code of that particular gene in the seed.
SIBB: Advantage is that there will be less probability of the above mentioned disadvantage, and the sibb plant could also carry some great genetics. Disadvantage is that the sibb plant will definitely carry heaps of other genetics and in case of a great plant sibbed with a dud (which might turn out to be one by the end of the season) you have a good chance of having introduced a large fraction of disadvantageous genetics into the cross.
Hence, for the refinement of genetics the xSELF should be better (but it could turn out to become a refinement of damaged genes). If you want to plug a seed from crosses xSIBB or xSELF, then try to find out how the two plants of the xSIBB cross had performed. If both of them did the right thing (e.g., healthy plants, long stems, big pumpkins with nice shape which went heavy), then the xSIBB should dominate with advantages.
