I have heard that you can look at the potential of a cross by adding the weights together. It is not scientific by any means, but the you add some seeds together, such as 1466 Jutras and 1494 Bordsen, they are high numbers, then turn out being great seeds. That being said, the 1623 Wallace is the highest number for 2012. 1623 + 2009 = 2632.
This looks to be the best seed of 2012, do you agree? Thank you for you professional posts.

scott, i think your math may be off just a touch, 1623 + 2009 equals3632 pounds, only a thousand off, lol. that being said, i think this seed has great potential, as well as several dozen more crosses do.we are very fortunate that we all have so many great genetic choices to choose from. genetically speaking, almost every patch has potential to grow a monster due to the vast array of seeds with amazing genetics that are available to us.a big thank you to all the veteran growers that has made this possible.

Oops, sorry about the math. You are correct.

I'm growing it cause of who the pollinator is. And moms not to shabby!!! The numbers are interesting-never know unless you grow it

I add the weight of the fruit, plus the weight of the polinator, and divide by 2.

the 1385 (x 1689) had the highest average parent weight ever (at the time). the 1725 Harp (x self) had the highest average parent weight ever (of its time). And now the 1623 wallace has the highest ever.

the 1385 Jutras was the 25th largest fruit of its year crossed to the new WR. The 1623 Wallace was the 24th largest fruit of 2012 crossed with the new WR. lots of comparisons can be made, but we won't know until its grown.
