I'm thinking of crossing the 1662 Stelts with some seeds from orange pumpkins with solid orange genetics.

Are my chances good of getting a big orange pumpkin from the crosses?

My 1662 seed grew my 945 last year which was a beautiful orange and had great shape and curves. I am planting that seed this year as I crossed it with the 1495 Stelts so am hoping for big and orange to continue.

Last year my 1662 was very orange. I had it at the Vermont weigh off 794 lbs. 110 lbs light to the new chart.

Steve, I was planning to plant the 1662 this season. Looking through diaries there are a number of nice orange offspring (except Mike's).

Looking at results from 2010-12, I thing the average is 7% heavy to chart, I'd have to double check that though.

I plan on using it as a male pollinator to the 1770 Lieber.
