My best plant by far and away this year came from a seed from the 1544 Revier. It seems to be growing very fast and has several female buds already. It really has me very optimistic. Could anyone else who has already grown this seed please let me know about your specific unique experiences with this seed? Would any of you have any advice as far as what I could do in order to get the most out of its potential. Its parents, the 1385 Jutras and 1161 Rodonis in my mind are legendary in the field of giant pumpkin growing. I have always felt that this is a very underrated seed. Thanks for any of your thoughts!

Haven´t grown the 1544 yet, but the results from Jos Ghaye are speaking for themselves (check out the Jos diary, in 2012 he grew a 1553 and a 1411 from 1544 Revier seeds). I had made good experience with the 924 Wittmann, which grew my 907 (which was my 2011 PB), and this seed was also a 1385 x 1161 cross. Best of luck with your 1544, I am sure it will grow a monster for you.

I grew it last year, nice plant and orange. Altho it never made it to the scale, some disease took it down, but it was on the way to at least 1000 lbs. Good luck.

The trick is to leave the mini greenhouse accidentally shut on the hottest day of May, cooking the plant. Then, ignore it for a couple weeks in disgust. It will come around.
