A grower in our area did a 2009 x 1623-the 1623 was the pollinator. His name is gary shenfish. He had mid 800 lbers on both plants.Check out the Littleton and aurora Colorado contests.

I have both seeds and might do it next year. I am hedging on the 1623 though because it seems like 90% of them split.

...just a suggestion: Enter the 150 sqft contest with the 1623 seed. It might have the potential to grow a monster on a small plant, and the limited "power supply" might help it won´t split too easily.

the 1623 is a great cool weather seed as well. good observation king. ps---i still gotta give it a go in little rhody next year. may keep sides growing longer early on to help any possible splitting.other than that? drop the hammer and get on the gas pedal.i want it all or nothing. pap

I pollinated my 1623 with the 2009. Plant never filled out for me. On about 250sf grew a 850 est at about eight feet out. Pumpkin didn't split, just didn't get it to a weigh off. Got lots of thick roundish shaped seeds out of her.
