Hello Matt, I am an admirer of your Italian! I have followed with great pleasure your growers diary, and I want to compliment you, for your enormous contribution to the world of big pumpkins! Finally this year I could win 2 of your seeds at an auction! you are really honored and proud of being able to cultivate 220DeBacco Snow Ball and 1766.5 DeBacco. I was very fascinated with the story and your great work for the SnowBall .. I think I'm the only one in Italy to have these seeds, and I think very few in Europe .. cultivate 'the seeds in 3 different patches, so as to prevent propagation disease .. I wanted to get your advice for the 'pollination, crossing., what do you advise me? I have many seeds, cultivate them apart .. but the ones that I want to have all my energies are 220DeBacco SnowBall - 1766.5 DeBacco-1791 Hollands (1495 Stelts x 2009 Wallace) - 1666 Hollands (1596 werner x 2009 Wallace). I pollinate 220x1766, 5 (I mix the genes too?) 220x better pollinate in 1791 to strengthen the genes of 2009? look your news, to me you're the Guru of the great pumpkins! I know you're very busy, but there is a lot of time ahead of us before pollinate .. I hope it's an even better last year!, I wish you great satisfaction! still honored to be able to sow 220, I am really very excited!, lol

Thank you for the kind words and I just saw the e-mail you sent also. Between the Ohio trip and mid-terms my pumpkin time has been limited.
Anyway with the seeds you have here are my recommended crosses...
220.3 DeBacco '13 x 1766.5 DeBacco (goal here is to add in some non-2009/1725 genes on the male side)
1766.5 DeBacco '13 x 220.3 DeBacco (I like the reverse also)
1791 Holland '13 x 1666 Holland (I think the offspring will be heavy and you will have half 2009 Wallace genes with half being something different)
1666 Holland '13 x 1791 Holland (if it is good one way the reverse shoudl also be good.)
Hope this helps and sorry for the delay.

Matt,
I agree with you completely on the 220 genetics. It would be nice to I reproduce another genetic line into the 1734/220, of course, you just have to find the genetics nessisary to do that. If you think about it, 220 x 1676 Daletas would not beidea at all in my oppinion.a bad I

Should be introduce instead of reproduce

And by nessisary, I mean genetics from a different genetic line that compete with the 220 genetics.
