This & Joel Hollands were the only 2 crosses made in 2013 1495 Stelts X 2009 Wallace.I didnt hear of any BES on 1317 offspring .Was there any?I know a few went lite.I'm not sure if some of those were doe to water & soil.Im starting to think so.As my only attempt from this seed went 8% heavy & Mom was 14%.Just wondering??If we have a pumpkin thats not prone to splits & goes big round & heavy??Is this not a good seed to grow??Pap always said stay a way from problem fruit.

I grew a 2009 wallace in the same patch as the 1503.5. It went 9% light and the 1503.5 was 4% light, so it probably was the soil. I will grow the 1317 again, it was orange with a great shape.

I think water at early stage is critical when the fruit is small like a grapefruit I dont think were as focused at watering as when its 400 lbs.I think its just as important to keep her moist & not dry while developing fruit.

I believe your right Bubba, here in Montana we hardly ever get rain and the humidity is 12 percent so you have to water a lot more often.I water most everyday and the sun sets at 10:00 pm at the peak of summer. It is high desert conditions
