I would like to say a few things about this seed, I grew it this past season and it was a very aggressive plant with large leaves, huge vine! The only thing is I could not get one set on the main. I managed to set one on the 4th side vine, the one on the main aborted and time was a factor so I went with the side vine. The pumpkin weighed in at 976 lbs which is a great weight in spite of our poor growing season. When you consider our top weight was 1038 lbs in our area. It was 2nd place! So I will be giving this seed a try again next season, 5.5%heavy and look at these genetics, 991 Urena X 2009 Wallace

Sounds like your soil may have had too high nitrogen levels. Nonetheless congratulations on a great season.

I agree with the too much nitrogen diagnosis. I had the same type of pollination problems this season. A little N will go a long way at the expense of P and K ratios.

Would love to but the seeds are still in the pumpkin and it is frozen? I wonder if I should cut it open now or wait till spring!
