1969 Haist 2014 (1756 Landcaster x 1495 Steltz)
I acquired this seed via auction this year.Just putting it out there as to what everyone thinks about using this seed in starting line up?
Thanks!
Gary

From the pictures Ive seen, the 1969 was a beast with smooth ribs and no dill rings. Mixing it with big and heavy and orange(1495 s.) may make a great cross. It will get grown so well know next fall if the cross worked out. Is it worth a shot-I'd say yes

It's one of two I'm growing this year. Heavy x Heavy I'm betting on it. Woody Lancaster

I think you made a great choice and I also will be planting the 1969 Haist this year. I really like the cross after growing two 1756s last year. The 1756 on the female side gives this seed much potential in my opinion. I have two 1969 seeds through auction they they will be fighting it out for one spot of the four in my patch.
Along those lines, I am also growing the 1756 again. A Heavy producer and a crazy grower! Both mine went heavy last year and don't all of them?

Karl and I are fellow WNY growers and I had the pleasure of seeing this plant up close. It was spectacular, the pumpkin just looked mean and its pollinator was a beautiful 1495. If you have other ?'s I suggest you email karl regarding how it grew for him. Jeffp

Thanks everyone! You're making my decision easy. Thinking of crossing with 1873 Steil. Both kins are similar in shape. Also have 1832 Midthun and 1781 Zywiec.Different style kin but still heavy.
I always like the long and round like the 1969 and the 1873.
There's a lot of seeds I wish I had but time to stay off the auctions or I'll go broke! lol
I will keep in touch.
Any thoughts are welcome.
Thanks!
Gary
