It's my first year growing Atlantic giants, so far so good, I have 3 successful fruits at about 150 pounds right now. My question pertains to trimming the male flowers. Do you guys trim/nip them off or just leave them alone. I'd figure it would take energy away from the plant once you have well established fruit. I have no use for the males and I nip them, doesn't seem to affect the plant. Input?

If you have the time, trim off all unneeded males. If not, no worries.

As soon as we see that we have our pollinations done, then every flower (male & female) is cut off ASAP. Well before they get a chance to mature. No need to waste energy growing them & we don't attract as many bugs to the plant. No bees are harmed when we spray either. A win-win situation for us. Good luck.
