If you crossed one of today's big wide heavy kins with and super heavy smaller greenie... would we be going backwards on genetics or would we be preparing to make progress for the next year? I contemplate this constantly... I'm a newer grower and want to help move things forward without planting the same thing as everyone else...

I think that is a good idea. I am almost a new grower. I have grown two PB kins, 504 Chandler 1%heavy(Rocky) and 438 Chandler 13%heavy(Terminator). I would ask Matt D.(Mad Scientist), he has been crossing kins with interesting genetics.

I think youre likely to be backwards for size. The squash seem to have a shorter growth cycle than current ag strains.

But if the mother is the ag it has the most influence on next years seeds tho... right?
