Has anyone noticed the grand parents of these seeds? there the same! The grandparents are the Bobier 723 and Calai 846. Does this mean anything special or am I just freaking out?

And take a look at his 855,too. It is 805 Pukos X 723 Boboier. I think Phil is on to something big!!!!

Geez, I have fans! Thanks for the kind words guys but there's no guarantee that any cross will produce big. I think that cross-backs shorten the odds of kicking out big pumpkins but that's about it. I think I'm going to plant my wife's 928 . That's also a cross-back. It's a selfed 805 Pukos crossed back to the 805 again. The big advantage this seed has is that the parent was 8% heavy to the chart. Two really nice things about the 805 Pukos grown pumpkins are that they tend to weigh heavy and they are very relible. They don't tend to go down to splits.

BTW. I still have lots of seeds left and I'm willing to trade for other growers seeds from this year. Just drop me a line.

1301 Eaton is the same type background, except a generation back. Anytime you cross (2) reverse crosses you're gonna end up with that configuration in the hierachy tree. My 333# this year was a 414 Sharier X 350 Sadowski, same hierarchy lineup. It's not a rare configuration, but it's certainly not common.

In the shade - PDX, OR

This is a specific strain cross with the 846 X 723.

Shannon Summers and Jake van Kooten did the same thing check them out on the AGGC. - with similar results I might add.

This reduces the # of grandparents from 8 to 4.

The 855 Joynson will be interesting to watch. Crossing back to paternal lineage, an F2 hybrid?
Cool, something else to research on AGGC...progeny from paternal crossbacks, doubtful there's very many of them out there.
Hmmmm, Cowpie you're just full of surprises huh?
