I would just like to hear what genetics are known to be low maintenance, and disease free, hardy, robust, etc. I wonder if a few would come to the top. Also if there are any that a maybe know for less desirable traits, (splitting) or others.
I've read in lots of diary posts saying the 1625 fits these characteristics. Wondering if there are others

My 1109 Borgers 2016 fits this description. Howard Dill award Stillwater. She was named persistence and it fit.The seed has been selfed for many generations. The goal at the start of this project was to develop a seed that any kid could plant and get a decent size orange pumpkin. Thru the years, it has survived thru zero care, heavy svb infestation, drought, flooding, and this past year herbicide poisoning. All the seeds from this pumpkin are now spoken for, but they should be available from the St Croix Growers Association. I think if you are looking to grow a pretty orange that can survive alot, this seed is worth considering.

Great post. An almost unknown seed, 524 Reid, 1180 Daletas x 1097 Beachy. Happiest plant I have ever seen. Laid down easily and produced many females. Nice shape and color too.

I second the 1625gantner background.Real good in the heat, medium sized leaves(good in the wind).Aggressive vegetation and rooting-good leaf spacing for PM control.Good secondary bud formation for ease of pruning(something easy to pinch off).

Very old thread but I would say 1114.5 Minor. Which is similar to both those mentioned previously in fact it's a cross between a different 1495 stelts and the parent of the 1109 lineage. Easy easy plant a little too easy maybe... Even if it needed water badly I don't think it would wilt. Easy easy easy!
