Any observations relating to breeding and weight potential? Mine usually fall into two categories either they are thin... about four inches thick at the stem and this seems to be the default thickness genetically but those which have heavy genes can be thicker than four. Does anyone else know for example what the heaviest/largest 'thin-wall genetics' pumpkin ever weighed was? How many medium wall or thin walled pumpkins get above 1500 lb?

Im sorry if the question is not clear I'm just struggling understand the variations. Some of the Howard dill ones are going to be thin walled and struggle to get well over a thousand pounds... even in the hands of a top grower? Any examples of seeds which really underperformed in the hands of a top grower simply because the genes were for thin-walls?
